Monotyping and Monoprinting Botanicals
Let Nature inspire youUnderstand the process
You don't need any drawing skills to enjoy printing with what nature offers. Pick some leaves (they must be fresh not brittle), ink them and transfer them onto a plate with a brayer or by prssing with your hand. You can rework your plate with a paintbrush if neccessary.
An etching press is essential for this technique to work.
Enjoy printing leaves and flowers.
What is special about this method: You can make dozens of prints in one session.
NOTE: You will create a monotype when using plants one time only. A monoprint will be created if you use the same leaf or plant over and over again as a stencil in more than one print
