How to make a monotype with Direct Tracing
Short video to understand the simple yet interesting process of direct tracing to create a monotype
This printmaking technique can be done without using a printing press.
The characteristic of this method is that you get a chalk-like line which makes this technique easily recognisable.
METHOD: Roll out some ink on a glass slab or a non porous surface. Position dry or damp paper onto the surface carefully avoiding to touch the surface with your hands. Draw on the back of the paper either lightly or heavily (marks will differ) and enjoy the process. The ink will easily transfer also with the slightest touch of your finger. When you think your drawing is finished, carefully lift the paper by one corner and slowly pick it up.
